Students from most in-person Foothills locations are able to access teachers virtually from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students from corrections, YCP (daytime), and students in the alternative program will not have access to VLS.  

Virtual Learning Services (VLS) is offered in addition to the instruction students receive at an in-person site, but it is not meant to replace in-person support. Students might use VLS when a specific content teacher is not available at the site or when they want to make progress at home before the site opens for the evening. 

Virtual Learning Services (VLS) can be accessed via a link inside each Canvas course. All content courses have been equipped with links like this that will connect students with a content area teacher.

For example, to receive 1:1 virtual science support, a student should click on the link within the course that reads “VLS | Meet with a Science Teacher.” (See example below.)
