Starting June 2, 2025, students from most in-person Foothills locations will be able to access teachers virtually from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students from corrections, YCP (daytime), and students in the alternative program will not have access to VLS.  

Virtual Learning Services (VLS) is being offered in addition to the instruction students receive at an in-person site, but it is not meant to replace in-person support. Students might use VLS when a specific content teacher is not available at the site or when they want to make progress at home before the site opens for the evening. 

Virtual Learning Services (VLS) will be accessed via a link inside each Canvas course. All content courses have been equipped with links like this that will connect students with a content area teacher.

For example, to receive 1:1 virtual science support, a student will click on the link within the course that reads “VLS | Meet with a Science Teacher.” (See example below.)

Please note that if a student is currently using VLS, they will need to begin accessing it by using the links within each individual Canvas course.
