Superintendent
Dr. Dale Simpson is a mission-driven educational leader with over a decade of experience serving elementary, middle, high school, and district students. As superintendent of Foothills Regional High School, Dr. Simpson is committed to ensuring every student, regardless of their circumstance, has a clear and supported path to earning their high school diploma and pursuing post-secondary success.
Since joining Foothills in 2017, Dr. Simpson has served in multiple roles, including graduation coach, director of data and accountability, and assistant superintendent. His leadership has helped drive significant growth and innovation across the district, including a 37% increase in graduates, the launch of nationally recognized workforce development programs, and a re-accreditation score far exceeding the national average. He also played a key role in securing critical legislation to ensure the school's continued operation.
Prior to Foothills, Dr. Simpson served as the founding principal of Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy and chief executive officer of the Sims Academy of Innovation and Technology. In both roles, he focused on building student-centered programs aligned with local workforce needs, expanded dual enrollment opportunities, and fostered a culture of academic excellence.
Dr. Simpson holds a doctorate of education in educational leadership from the University of Georgia, along with multiple certifications in business education, instructional leadership, and student support. Beyond his professional achievements, he remains actively engaged in community organizations and regional workforce development initiatives.
At the heart of Dr. Simpson's work is a belief in second chances, high expectations, and the power of education to change lives. Under his leadership, Foothills remains "All In," helping students make progress, overcome obstacles, and move toward the goal line of graduation.
