School-Parent Compact | 2025-26

This compact was jointly developed by parents, students and staff through input gained at Spring Title I planning meetings, Family Advisory Council Meetings, and annual Title I parent surveys.

Foothills Regional High School’s Mission: Foothills Regional High School is a community and state resource for students who want to earn a high school diploma in order to be successful in post-secondary and career options.

Foothills’ Goals

  • Goal I: Provide each student with relevant, personalized learning experiences that prepare them for post-secondary opportunities in a competitive, global society.

  • Goal II: Provide wraparound student support services that remove barriers to student success and enable each student to reach their full potential.

  • Goal III: Ensure optimal organizational effectiveness through efficient stewardship of all resources.

  • Goal IV: Maintain highly qualified leadership, faculty, and staff who foster a professional and supportive learner-centered environment.

  • Goal V: Provide effective outreach to promote statewide awareness and utilization of Foothills Regional High School programs.

To help your child meet the district and school goals, the school, you, and your child will work together to: 

School Responsibilities
Foothills Regional High School staff: 

  • Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s challenging academic standards, as follows: standards-aligned curriculum, highly qualified staff, appropriate technology, and research-based instructional strategies to ensure students meet the state’s academic achievement standards.

  • Hold parent-mentor conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement. These conferences are held twice annually in September/October and February/March. Additional conferences may be scheduled by parents, staff and/or students to discuss student progress. 

  • Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress. Feedback will be provided through written and verbal communication from teachers, mentors, and additional staff members. 

  • Provide parents with reasonable access to staff. Staff may be contacted via email, ParentSquare or phone as needed. Response times may vary depending on an individual's working hours.  

  • Provide supplemental support in EOC courses – review packets, one-on-one tutoring – to ensure academic preparedness for EOC Assessments. 

  • Provide parents with opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s education. Parents may contact the site director to arrange opportunities to volunteer, participate in their child’s class, and/or observe classroom activities. 

  • Ensure regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and school staff that is, to the extent practicable, in a language that family members can understand, as follows: Foothills will communicate with families via ParentSquare, which provides automatic translations in preferred languages 

  • Provide wrap-around supports such as mentors, career specialists and community partners 

Parent/Family Responsibilities
I/We, as a parent(s) and/or family members: 

  • Talk with my child about his/her attendance and academic progress and provide encouragement for him/her to stay on track for graduation. 

  • Make sure my child completes review packets and participates in one-on-one tutoring to ensure academic preparedness for the EOC assessments. 

  • Encourage my child to take full advantage of the wrap-around supports offered at Foothills – mentors, career specialists, graduation coaches, community partners 

  • Maintain contact with the Foothills staff on my child’s academic progress at the Foothills site he/she attends. 

  • Attend parent involvement activities to gain information on the instructional programs, to support my child’s academic activities and to work with the staff on helping my child meet his/her graduation requirements. 

Student Responsibilities 
I, as a student,: 

  • Attend classes on a regular basis in order to continue to make progress in my courses. 

  • Meet with my mentor to ensure adequate pacing in courses and set goals to stay on track for graduation. 

  • Complete all review packets and participate in one-on-one tutoring to ensure academic preparedness for EOC Assessments. 

  • Take full advantage of the wrap-around supports offered at Foothills – mentors, career specialists, graduation coaches, and community partners
