Curriculum & Instruction

Foothills offers focused, independent learning environments that are supported by certified, subject-specific teachers who are always available to assist. Each classroom typically has 15 or fewer students and is dedicated to one core subject—math, science, English, or social studies—ensuring students receive specialized guidance.

Courses are delivered through the online Canvas platform and emphasize mastery learning, where students must achieve 80% or higher on quizzes and post-tests to demonstrate their understanding. Students have the flexibility to choose which course to focus on, but they are expected to complete three courses within every 90 school days.

Foothills virtual classrooms maintain the same high standards and provide the same level of personalized support as in-person learning environments. In both settings, students set nightly goals with their teachers, helping them stay on track to graduate with a Georgia high school diploma.
