Special Education

The Special Education Department is committed to ensuring all students with disabilities in our school have access to and benefit from the general education curriculum through a wide range of special education programs and services. Special education services and support include accommodations and modifications of the general education curriculum and environment, individualized goals and objectives, coordinated transition services, assistive technology, and related services. Related services include orientation and mobility, speech and language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and visual and hearing support. The individualized education plan (IEP) team identifies all special education services and supports.

We provide special education programs and services for high school students. Today, over 400 students at Foothills receive special education services. To meet the needs of our students with disabilities, the district employs over 120 special education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals.

If you suspect that your child may have a disability and could benefit from our special education services, we encourage you to reach out to our Special Education Department. We are here to support you and your child.
